Announcement dated 7th March 2010
• Last day for Term 1 will be 6/7 March 2010
• No classes on the 13/14 March and 20/21 March (inclusive) during the Term 1 holidays
• Sec 3 will have class on 13/14 March
  Weekend of 27/28 March – All Parents, Students and Catechists to support Parish Wide Events. There will be no usual catechism classes on that weekend. Instead:
- All Sec 1,2 and 3 youth are to attend the Youth Lenten Evening on Saturday 27 March
- All Primary Children are requested to join in the Palm Sunday Procession/Family Mass at the 8.15 am Mass on Sunday 28 March
• Normal Classes resume at the two venues (St Ignatius and Maris Stella) only AFTER Easter - on 10/11 April
• Catechists Term 1 Meeting/Training - All Catechists/Assistants are reminded to attend the Term 1 Meeting/Training (Echoes of Faith on Liturgy/Sacraments) on Saturday 13 March, 1.30 - 5.30 pm at St Ignatius Hall
 
Announcement dated 28th February 2010
Sec 2 Parents Meeting and Entrance Ritual for Youth entering their second year of preparation for Confirmation – (Sunday 28 February, 4.15 pm at La Storta Room) followed by the 6 pm Mass in St Ignatius church.

Meaningful Preparation for Easter - We encourage all families to use the Lenten booklet to guide their children during the Lenten season e.g. doing good deeds, sharing their Faith etc.

Survey on Bus Service for Maris Stella – From the survey, only very few parents need the bus service. Thus, it is not practical to arrange for one.  Parents, kindly, make your own arrangements to bring your children (“car pool”) to Maris Stella for their Catechism.
HAITI RELIEF SALE - 7 March 2010

Special bake sale to raise $10,000 for victims of the Haiti earthquake. Organised by the youth of the parish. Donations in cash or in kind (baked items ready for sale) are much appreciated.

No Classes over Chinese New Year
There will be no classes next weekend on 13/14 Feb due to Chinese New Year Celebrations.

Classes only resume on 20/21 Feb.

Announcement dated 31st January 2010

Catechetical Office / Co-ordinators have been temporary moved to St Ignatius Hall for the duration of renovations to improve / add classrooms.

Parents / Catechists : If you have children/youth (Pri 1-Sec 2) wanting books this weekend, parents are requested to come directly to the temporary office/co-ordinators located at St Ignatius Hall for the purchase.

Sec 3 team: Please handle as per earlier instructions emailed to your team.

Sec 3 Confirmation :   First Retreat for our Confirmation Youth

- Theme -  “Come Follow Me”.
- Saturday 6 February from 1.45 pm @  St Ignatius hall
- Followed by 6 pm Sat Sunset Mass @ St Ignatius church
- Full attendance by students and parents are requested

Sec 1 Parents Meeting and Welcome Ritual Mass
- Sunday 7 February, 4 pm in the canteen at Sacred Heart Hall
- All Sec 1 parents are invited to the parents meeting and thence to the evening Mass at 6 pm with the Welcome Ritual for all the Sec 1 youth as they embark on their 3 year confirmation preparation programme.
- All Sec 1 students to attend classes as per normal on this
- Full attendance by students and parents are requested

Formation for Catechists :
Additional Run of Echoes of Faith (as per request) will be as follows:

Sat 20 Feb  -  Module 1 - Person of the Catechist
Sat 27 Feb  -  Module 2 - Role of the Catechist

Location - Sacred Heart hall classroom
Time – 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm

All those who missed the run at the end of Dec are requested to come along to refresh and renew themselves.

Catechism Classes well underway
Kids arriving at Maris Stella Getting Started

Weekend Catechism classes (Primary, Secondary and Post-Confirmation …) began on the weekend of 16 and 17 Jan 2010 and are well underway.

Thank You to all parents, children and youth for your understanding,
co-operation and prayers for a generally smooth start to term. Much appreciated.

Gentle Reminders

For Pri 1-4 classes, we have access to the rooms allocated by Maris Stella. However we do not have access to the grounds, mini zoo, toys and library shelves. Thank you for reminding your children about this.

As the canteen is not operational, parents of children on the Sunday programme, please provide them with some packed breakfast before class

A simple transport survey is underway for parents (of Pri1-4) who may need buses to Maris Stella after Chinese New Year. If you have not received a hardcopy survey and are interested, you may download the Survey Form from the church website www.stignatius.org.sg from 23 Jan-early Feb  and submit as per instructions in the Survey Form.

Announcement dated 3rd January 2010

For Start of NEW SCHOOL YEAR 2010
(Jan – Nov)

 

Catechetical Sunday (BAPTISM OF OUR LORD) will be celebrated on Saturday 9 January with a meeting cum training from 2.30 pm followed by 6 pm Mass. All weekend catechists/assistants are requested to be present.

Sec 3 Confirmation 2010 - We request all parents of (2009) Sec 2 youth proceeding into the Confirmation (in 2010) class to
re-register your youth at a meeting on Sunday 10 January at 4 pm in La Storta room. This re-registration is compulsory.

All Weekend Catechism Classes begins on the weekend of 16/17 January. All Parents are requested to take a Weekend Catechism Programme - Letter to Parents – January 2010 flyer from the Place of Gathering.


Post-Confirmation - For Youth Confirmed in 2009
The Post Confirmation Team invites the newly confirmed youths, aged 16, to an Overnight Camp (16/17 January) in our church.

Weekly Sunday sessions will begin from Sunday, 24 January onwards at 9.45 am. For further information contact Max 8189-5939 or Sherwin 9642-7091.


2010 Letter to Parents, Children, Youth


Leading Little Ones: Parents are advised that there will be no Leading Little Ones classes for 2010 due to renovations. The ministry will only resume in 2011.

CGS: Parents are advised (except for the current cohort completing First Holy Communion), there will be no CGS intake/classes for 2010 due to renovations. CGS will only resume in 2011.

Our Primary One classes for 2010 are already full.

Sunday: 10.00 am - 11.00 am* (new timing for 2010)
Sec 1, 2 & 3 Saturday: 4.00 pm - 5.30 pm
