Faith and Light is a warm and ecumenical community where persons with intellectual challenges/disability, their families, and friends gather for friendship, sharing, prayer, and celebration.

 

We welcome people from different Christian traditions and other faith backgrounds, to journey with us in faith, mutual support, and joyful belonging.

What happens at our gatherings

Our monthly gatherings, which we call celebrations, offer opportunities for everyone to participate, connect and pray together.

• Songs and a warm welcome — We begin with a song our members love and welcome everyone back.

• Checking in with one another — Our “Weather Bulletin” gives each person a chance to share how they have been since we last met, especially those who missed the previous celebration.

• Bringing the Gospel to life — We mime Gospel stories, involving our friends with intellectual disabilities in the activities.

• Sharing and reflection — We gather in small groups to reflect on the Gospel story and what it means to us.

• A fiesta to finish — We share a meal and celebrate the month’s birthdays, with birthday cake and drinks contributed by members.
