"Jesus came in order to show God's love. He often does this in places where we feel especially threatened: in the weakening of our life through sickness. God wants us to become well in body and soul and therefore, to believe and to acknowledge the coming of God's kingdom. Sometimes a person has to become sick in order to recognise what we all - healthy or sick - need more than anything else: GOD. We have no life except in Him. In the New Testament, sick people would seek the presence of Jesus; they tried "to touch Him, for power came forth from Him and healed them all" (Luke 6:19)

When a Catholic person is seriously ill

1. Call our Parish Office at 6466 0625 (during office hours) or our Sacristan, Therese at 8511 4614 (weekends) to arrange for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Alternatively, you may contact any other Catholic parishes. View Directory here.

2. Call the Ministry of Pastoral Care for the Elderly and the Sick (PaCES).

St Ignatius Church PaCES members journey with the housebound elderly and the sick. This usually involves home and hospital visits, praying with them, bringing Holy Communion and arranging for the Sacrament of Anointing when necessary.

Please contact any of the following members if you require PaCES's services:
