About the event

To celebrate our parish feast day this year, join us as a community for a mini Ignatian-guided Camino walk with God in Creation.

Date:                      Saturday, 26 July 2025

Time:                     From 4.30pm 

Starting point:   Route A: 7km walk (Starting point: Blk 4A Ghim Moh Road)

                                Route B: 3.5km walk (Starting point: Botanic Gardens MRT Exit A)

This will be followed by food & fellowship from 6:30pm onwards at the Church of St Ignatius, Sacred Heart Hall.

Following in the footsteps of St Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), Finding God in all things is at the core of Ignatian Spirituality and is rooted in our growing awareness that God can be found in every one, in every place and in everything.

Finding God in all things

This year, we are called through this mini Camino walk to pay more attention to God, to become more thankful and reverent, and through this become more devoted to God, and more deeply in love with our Creator.

 

One Community of Faith, Hope, & Love​

Our church mission is focused on being One Community of Faith, Hope, & Love. Invite family, friends and neighbours, and let’s use this opportunity to joyfully connect with others and build up our community together.  

 

Participation is free-of-charge, but a love offering is welcome. Pre-registration is required for event and this closes on Sunday, 13 July 2025.  All are welcome!

Routes & Getting There ​​

Our Ignatian Camino Walk with God in Creation will take you through beautiful parks and nature.  This guided meditative walk event has two routes to cater to all ages & abilities, both of which will lead back to church for food and fellowship.

 

Route A: 7km walk

Getting there​

In line with Laudato Si movement to care for our common home through sustainable actions, you are encouraged not to drive for this event.  The start and end points of our event are easily accessible by public transport or walking.  

 

Please note that the open air car park at 8 Victoria Park Road will be closed from 4 – 9pm on the day.

What to wear & bring

​

As we will be walking outdoors for 2-2.5 hours, you are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring only what you need. 

 

What to wear

​

Please wear comfortable, modest clothes for our humid outdoors, which can include hot sunshine and the possibility of rain.  Footwear should be comfortable, preferably covered walking shoes.

 

What to bring

​

All reflection materials during the walk will be provided.  Please only bring what you need, which may include: 

• Water bottle and a small snack (if needed)

• Travel card & money to get there and home

• Sunblock/insect repellent

• Umbrella and/or raincoat

• Small towel 

 

Please note that in our efforts to reduce the use of plastics, bottled water will not be provided during the event. 

 

How can I contribute​

This event is free-of-charge for participants, however we welcome donations to help us defray the costs of the event.
